A Blooming Success

I have this friend that lives inside my computer. Her name is Bonnie and she used to be an angry infertile. Now she is asking I Can Haz Bebe? After living the nightmare version of the movie Juno, she and her husband are now dropping buttloads of cash to adopt internationally. The problem? They don't have buttloads of cash. So they are having fundraisers! Bonnie is very proactive and motivated (not to mention TALENTED) so she even has a raffle going on to help raise funds. Great loot being given away!
Adoption Raffle
My favorite fundraiser is the flowers. Spring is just around the corner and you can order some bulbs to plant in the ground or some dwarf blueberry bushes that will bare fruit next year. If coffee is your thing, she's got that too. You may already be following her story but if you aren't please do hop on over and give her some encouragement. I'd love to see this adoption journey be a blooming success.

I contacted Bonnie via her blog last year when they were excitedly anticipating the baby boy's arrival, I think this was a few months before. I hated to do it but after going through two failed matches where the birthmoms decided to parent, I was concerned about the crash and burn being exponentially bigger if she was not prepared for the possibility. (Maybe it's because I have a daughter that's 31 that I feel motherly?) Anyway, she assured me that they had prepared for that possibility. However, you can be prepared but not really ready...sometimes reality just so sucks! Fortunately for us, the third match did go as planned and our Hannah is now fourteen. The moment I held her (after all papers were signed) I knew why the others had fallen through. We adopted from Ukraine five years later and I wish now someone had recommended Toddler Adoption,The Weaver's Craft. So, here I go again getting ready to be Debi Downer (sorry any Debbie's out there) and will mom up again. Our son is in a psych hosp. just hope to help another family avoid what we've been through. Dang life anyway.
