How much does the Tooth Fairy pay your kid?
The Daughter recently lost her first tooth and had a visit from the Tooth Fairy. Seems the other kids in her class got "a bundle of money" while the fairy that visited here just brought a handful of quarters and a dollar bill. Then today, unexpectedly, she lost another tooth. Turns out the Tooth Fairy needs a little advanced notice so she can run by the bank. Would it be incredibly wrong to take a couple of bucks out of The Daughter's piggy bank if I, umm the Tooth Fairy, made sure to replace it come Monday? I guess that would be Tooth Fairy robbing Paul to pay Peter, or something like that. What's the going rate for your kid's teeth?

We're not doing the Tooth Fairy, Santa, Easter Bunny etc. this time around. But with our eldest we did $5 for the first tooth and a note from the tooth fairy explaining how special the first tooth was and that's why it was worth so much. Subsequent teeth were about $2 each. And yes we've borrowed from the piggy bank when caught unexpectedly :)
Hey, a tooth fairy's gotta do what she's gotta do.
Unfortunately, the price of a tooth went up dramatically since I was a kid...and I'm not THAT old (31)! My daughter used to receive one or two dollars, that is until she lost a tooth at her Dad's house. That tooth fairy had to out-do the regular tooth fairy, as per usual, and the price went up to $5; and then even to $10. At which point the tooth fairy folded and explained the "tooth fairy" process!
I got $5 a tooth, but I'm a spoiled brat and an only child.
My sister the Tooth Fairy gave my niece $1 for her first tooth last week, then ex-husband the Tooth Fairy gave her $5...My niece thought it was odd that the tooth was more at his house, but since most kids don't get two visits she didn't complain too much (She also didn't mention the fact that the tooth reappeared--she's a smart kid lol).
$1 a tooth...but it used to take a few days to remember. Now, I just have the kids put the tooth in a sandwich bag and tape it to their bedroom door so I can remember when I check on them before I go to bed. They all know it is me anyway so no biggie. They just like the fantasy.
Did I just leave a comment or am I dreaming it?? $1 is what I give a tooth.
The tooth fairy pays my kids in the form of one new paperback book per tooth. (A new book buys me way more time the next day than cash money would! Plus my kids appreciate it more.) But I have several friends who pay one silver dollar per tooth, which I think is pretty cool. I'm sure your girl and her fairy will come to some sort of negotiated agreement soon. :)
This toothfairy gives $1. With 3 boys 2 years apart, $5 or more would break the bank. Besides, money isn't everything. I like the paperback book idea from the previous poster, our toothfairy just might break her relationship with the bank and merge with B&N :)
Love the paperback idea!
We used to get something like a quarter and then a small pack of gum. You know, so we could rot out more teeth.
I would have folded too SanitySrchr. Ten bucks is just too much.
Cortney, good luck to you all (on being done with the AF). Will you be moving back near family? I think what you mailed me before was coupons. Remember when we did that whole coupon exchange thing?
a buck. thats it. too bad LOL
