Jamaica Kincaid

Today I read Annie John: A Novel. It's a coming of age story set in Antigua. I liked the book, except for this one part where she went crazy, the cause of which wasn't really explained and she became uncrazy just as mysteriously. Anyway, the book has been on our bookshelf for years and I'm trying to read through things in order to donate the ones I'm not overly attached to. We want to declutter. About half way through Jamaica Kincaid I found a little surprise, a receipt. Apparently this book was purchased at Ryerson Bookstore in Toronto, Ontario back on February 13th 2004 for $16.50 plus $1.16 tax for a total of $17.66. Love, love, LOVE finding surprises in books I read. Now I'm trying to decide if I like the book enough to keep it, or if its new residence will be the public library.
